New outfits and a fresh start!
The excitement of a new year with endless possibilities in learning, gaining new friends, exploring new worlds and of course a brand new spanking wardrobe to boot.
Its a brand new year, everything starts off fresh-every new year is a chance to make it the best yet. Plus there is peace and quiet in the house!
My favorite thing about the first day of school is seeing our 6th graders walk in a little apprehensively. It just encourages me that they are a little scared upon entering middle school, and that you can still make an influence on them.

The beginning of a new school is always an exciting mix of new and old. Making new friends and reconnecting with old friends. I think the day seems so exciting because it is filled with so many possibilities.

I ALWAYS loved shopping for school supplies. Nothing better for me than the thrill of getting to write my name in all my new folders, binders, etc. Second favorite was the smell of opening a new box of crayons...that was a good one. I hope my little boy (who is three months old) gets the same kick out of that first school day as his mom did :)
